Jason pulled the string back on his first bow and arrow at the age of 4 years old and was in the woods hunting deer when he was 12. His experiences as a youth growing up in one of the most difficult to hunt counties in Iowa because of its flat terrain and lack of habitat made Jason a student of whitetail behavior and terrain evaluation. It was imperative to have sharp skills in patterning deer and understanding their habits to be successful. In college he took this knowledge to a new level when he studied fish and wildlife biology and worked for several different conservation organizations including work on deer telemetry projects in Iowa.
Jason spent nearly 20 years as a law enforcement officer but today works as a full time Auctioneer and Land Specialist licensed in 5 states. As the Whitetail Properties Auctioneer Jason has the opportunity to see whitetail habitat across the big buck Midwestern states of Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and Kentucky.
Jason’s experience, expertise and knowledge of evaluating hunting farms has been sought out by many. Jason is an authority on and is often called on as a speaker at major hunting shows in the Midwest speaking on the topic of evaluation of hunting properties as well as growing and holding huge whitetail on your property.
Jason manages 270 acres of whitetail habitat where he lives in the Loess Hills of western Iowa and enjoys the opportunity to share the passion and heritage with others. He is a member of the Heartland Branch of the Quality Deer Management Association that serves western Iowa and eastern Nebraska.
