The area is well-known for great bull elk, mule deer, turkey and other game due to the rough terrain, heavy cover, and proximity to water. A few wet-weather seeps can be found on the property, and an old spring coming out of the side of the mountain was utilized years ago. Early season archery elk can be incredible, as the thick pinon, juniper, sage, and oak brush lends itself well to calling in rut-crazed bulls within bow-range. The property acts as somewhat of a barrier for public access to much of the BLM, expanding the opportunities for hunting success. Located just minutes from De Beque and I-25, access to the property is fairly easy during the majority of the year, barring heavy rains or snow. The access trail through the BLM is in good shape, but 4WD/ATV/UTV is recommended. This property is off-grid, with no public utilities available nearby.
