Tillable Fields And Hunting In East Central Indiana

The tillable fields along Duck Creek Road fill up with deer at night. These are the destination fields for the resident deer in the surrounding hills. A beautiful clear, flowing creek offers plenty of yearly water for the wildlife. The entry point is near a home on 5 acres that can also be purchased with this farm. There are a couple of large equipment sheds in the front lot that you drive past on your way into the cabin lot area that is across a shallow hard-bottomed creek crossing. There you will find a metal sided cabin in a nice grassy clearing offering you a great place to stay and stage up between hunts. A rock-based farm lane leads up into the hills from the cam area and encounters on drainage that needs a good culvert and rip rap and stone installed to make a comfortable crossing to get you up onto the ridgetop fields.  Some incredible views are to be had up here and the potential for planting food sources and possibly some native warm-season grasses to add even more diversity to this beautiful area.  Deer sign is everywhere and big rubs and old scrapes abound. There are too many potential stand locations to mention and there are even some isolated clearings in the timber on ridgetops that can be converted to interior kill plots. Turkeys are everywhere and I’ve heard gobblers all over these fields in the spring. There are some cedar-studded hillsides, especially just above the creek and tillable field which create some fantastic bedding areas. This place is dripping with potential and no doubt some giant bucks can be grown and matched wits with on this stunner. This is a must see to appreciate farm.  Shown by appointment only.
