MAINE CREEK FARM is a 150-acre licensed game farm and lodge in Maine Township, Northern Outagamie County, Wisconsin. This area of Outagamie County is managed by the Department of Natural Resources as the Wolf River Bottoms Wildlife Area. The area and farm are rich in fields, forests, and fauna such as dozens of bird species, including hawks, bald eagles, sand-hill cranes, ducks, geese, partridge and whitetail deer.
The acreage is surrounded by an eight-foot-high fence with four private gates for access to 3,000 acres of state-owned public land for hunting and other types of recreation. Wisconsin DNR land completely surrounds Maine Creek Farm on all sides. Access to the farm is via a locked steel gate on County Road M, which is the farm’s east property line.
The farm was established in 1962 and resides less than a mile from the Wolf River, the Shiocton River and the Embarrass River. It is located one hour from Green Bay and thirty minutes from the Fox Cities. There are 3 artesian ponds on the property, which are stocked with trout, as well as skeet & trap equipment, tennis & basketball courts and several deer stands. The owners have provided guided pheasant, grouse, and partridge hunting on the farm for over 40 years with top-notch hunting dogs with distinguished bloodlines. Many of Wisconsin’s State Governors and many of the NFL Green Bay Packers, as well as local businessmen, have hunted at Maine Creek Farm since the 1960’s.
The farm has been managed for trophy deer with 20+ acres of established food plots that are planted with wheat and rye. There are six to eight one acre plots throughout the property that are managed as bedding areas for whitetail.
The 6,500 square foot lodge is fully equipped and furnished. It accommodates 30-40 on 3 floors and includes a sauna, swimming pool, pool table, a giant fireplace inside and outside for chilly evenings, a huge great room overlooking one of the ponds, private bedrooms and 4 ½ bathrooms. Counter or seated dining is supported by a large restaurant-style kitchen and grill.
The owner’s quarters, a 2,550 square foot 4 bedroom 2 bath raised ranch home, is located at the rear of the property as well as a 40 x 100 utility building, which provides storage for equipment to maintain the grounds. A trail system connects the buildings and runs along the fence line to provide access to all corners of the acreage.
This is a rare opportunity to own a private, gated hunting lodge and game farm that is fully equipped for operation now. One of Wisconsin's most famous and complete game farms… this could be your very own private hunting preserve or a commercial business. With private, gated access to over 3,000 additional adjacent acres of DNR land, there are more hunting opportunities than one could explore in a lifetime!
