About Allen Shaw
Allen is a 34-year-old father and outdoorsman from Alpena, Michigan. Deeply connected to nature, Allen has spent much of his life embracing the forests, lakes, and open landscapes of northern Michigan. His love for the outdoors is not something he discovered on his own—it is a tradition passed down through generations of outdoorsmen in his family, shaping both his values and the way he chooses to live his life.
For Allen, time in the woods is more than a hobby; it is a way to slow down, reconnect, and share meaningful experiences with his children. As a devoted father of four—Elizabeth, 9, Lauren, 8, Levi, 4, and baby Bruce—he takes pride in introducing them to the same outdoor traditions that were taught to him. Whether exploring the woods, enjoying the quiet of nature, or simply spending time together outside, Allen believes those moments help build strong family bonds and lasting memories.
Rooted in family and tradition, Allen’s life centers on passing down the knowledge, respect, and appreciation for the outdoors that he inherited. Through patience, guidance, and shared adventures, he hopes his children will grow up with the same love for nature and the same sense of heritage that continues to guide him today.
Allen Shaw’s career path reflects both his entrepreneurial drive and his lifelong connection to the outdoors. As a teenager, he spent much of his time working and learning in a local bow shop. Those early years introduced him to the archery industry and deepened his appreciation for the outdoor lifestyle that had been passed down through generations of outdoorsmen in his family. It was there that he first developed hands-on knowledge of hunting equipment, the hunting community, and the relationships that form around a shared passion for the outdoors.
Allen later transitioned into the restaurant industry, where he spent the next decade building a strong work ethic and sharpening his leadership abilities. Working in a fast-paced environment taught him how to serve customers at a high level, manage operations under pressure, and communicate effectively with people from all walks of life. The restaurant business helped him develop the people skills and discipline that would carry forward into his later ventures.
Following his time in hospitality, Allen entered the insurance industry with American Senior Benefits. There, he quickly established himself as a high performer, earning recognition as a Top 10% agent within the organization. His success came from his ability to listen carefully, understand people’s needs, and guide them through important decisions that protected their families and financial futures.
Despite his achievements in insurance, Allen’s passion for archery and the outdoors ultimately led him back to his roots. Drawing on his business experience and deep connection to the hunting community, he launched his own archery shop, which rapidly grew into one of the fastest-growing archery shops in Michigan. The shop became more than just a retail business—it served as a hub for local hunters, outdoorsmen, and families who shared the same appreciation for the land and wildlife.
These combined experiences—customer service, sales expertise, entrepreneurship, and a lifetime spent in the woods—naturally positioned Allen to transition into selling hunting land and recreational properties with Whitetail Properties. His background gives him a unique advantage: he understands not only the value of land from a real estate perspective, but also from the viewpoint of a hunter and outdoorsman who knows what makes a property truly special. Allen’s ability to connect with people, combined with his deep knowledge of hunting culture and land use, allows him to help clients find properties that match both their investment goals and their outdoor dreams.
