About Ryan Stock
Ryan Stock grew up in a small mountain town with ready access to national forests, learning to hunt and fish on public lands. After earning a college degree in business, he worked in the outdoor recreation industry and as a management consultant in more than 20 industries and a dozen countries. He has owned and farmed a small ranch, bought and sold properties for his own portfolio, and carefully tracked Montana’s real estate markets over several business cycles. He owns a cabin in Southwestern Montana which he uses as a base camp for elk and deer hunting.
These experiences also led Ryan to appreciate the value of private land, as working ranches, for hunting and fishing, for investment and as a getaway from the more hectic life in an urban area.
When Ryan represents a seller, he brings a deep knowledge of Montana land values and the county-by-county or other variances which impact the value of a small or large parcel for sale. And he understands that selling family lands is an emotional decision which involves so much more than accurate market pricing.
When Ryan represents a buyer, he relies on his twenty-year career as a consultant leading management teams to plan for growth of their businesses, as a reminder that every customer has their own criteria for what they would like to buy. He gets to know his buyers, their reasons for looking at specific properties, and takes time refining their criteria no matter how specific, to find exactly the right property for their needs.
“When I think back to the dozen agents who have represented me as a buyer and seller for real estate,” Ryan says, “there are three qualities which stand out:
First is an intimate knowledge of the market, including price ranges, pricing trends and an understanding of the local area.
Second, honesty and integrity are critical, because real estate deals are the most important financial decisions that most people make in their lives.
And third, technical knowledge of real estate transactions is important to protect the buyer and seller in the event of unforeseen situations.”
“These are the professional qualities that I attempt to emulate,” he says, “putting myself into my client’s shoes.”
Ryan’s background, his substantive real estate training and his client-centered commitment have earned him a role as a Whitetail Properties Land Specialist.
