For Tonia Phillips, Southwest Virginia isn’t simply where she works - it’s home. Her family’s roots in the region stretch back hundreds of years, giving her a deep connection to the land, communities, and mountain landscapes that have shaped generations of her family. Today, having the opportunity to help others buy and sell land in the same area that means so much to her is especially rewarding.

Tonia grew up in the Roanoke Valley and graduated from Patrick Henry High School before attending Radford University, where she studied Marketing. She went on to spend 24 years working in the medical records industry, building a career centered around customer service, organization, communication, and attention to detail.

After earning her Virginia real estate license in 2022, Tonia began working alongside her husband, Jeff Phillips, with Whitetail Properties in 2024. In 2026, she officially joined Whitetail Properties Real Estate as an Agent and Land Specialist. Together, Tonia and Jeff make up Team Phillips, helping buyers and sellers throughout Southwest Virginia with land, recreational properties, farms, hunting properties, country homes, and unique rural real estate.

Tonia’s lifelong connection to Southwest Virginia gives her a genuine appreciation for what makes property here so special. She understands that land is often much more than acreage - it can represent family history, a place to raise a family, a recreational retreat, an investment, or a legacy to pass on to the next generation. She takes pride in helping sellers tell the story of their property and helping buyers find land that fits the life they envision.

Family is at the heart of Tonia’s life. She and Jeff have been married for 30 years and have a 29-year-old daughter. After three decades of building a life together, working side by side as Team Phillips is another chapter they are excited to share.

When she isn’t working with clients, Tonia enjoys spending time with family and friends and being outdoors. Fall in the Virginia mountains is her favorite time of year, while summers are often spent enjoying Smith Mountain Lake.

With generations of family history rooted in Southwest Virginia, Tonia considers it a privilege to build her real estate career around the land she has known and loved her entire life - and to help others find their own special connection to it.
