Description
The Comptroller/Senior Accountant provides leadership and oversight of all accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance across the organization. This role supports Whitetail Properties and its affiliated entities, including November Studios and Ranch & Farm Auctions.
As a key financial leader, the Comptroller oversees accounting operations, internal controls, and consolidated reporting while delivering clear financial insights to support executive decision-making. This position leads the accounting team, promotes best practices, and helps safeguard the company’s financial health to support continued growth.
This is a full-time, in-person position based at our Corporate Office in Pittsfield, IL. The starting annual salary range for this role is $80,000-$120,000, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and/or Certified Public Accountant preferred
- 7+ years of accounting experience preferred, preferably in real estate
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and multi-entity accounting
- Experience with commission-based compensation structures
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Net Suite, Sage, or similar)
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all accounting operations, including financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Prepare and present accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and all applicable regulations
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial planning initiatives
- Establish and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, and relationships with external auditors and advisors
- Analyze financial data to deliver actionable insights to executive leadership
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff while promoting continuous improvement
- Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership and department heads to support business objectives
- Evaluate and optimize accounting systems, processes, and software for efficiency and scalability
