Description
This great duck and deer hunting property is close to the Red River, just North of Texarkana in a very desirable area. Part of the property is in the WRP program, in which three large duck hunting impoundments were constructed, and trees were planted. The largest duck impoundment covers a large shallow area when full of water and has a water control gate to allow for spring draining for moist soil management and planting. McKinney Bayou borders the property on one side, which creates a great duck hunting opportunity, and provides you a place to pump water back into the impoundments. The planted trees on the property had great survival and consists of varying species of oaks that provide much-needed cover and food for the deer and other wildlife. There are portions of the property that are not in WRP allowing you to build a camp with electricity close by.
