Description
Located between the cities of Jacksonville and Henderson, Striker Creek Cattle Ranch is comprised of approximately 178 acres of rolling pasture with good grazing potential and large scattered pockets of mature hardwood timber. The tract has historically been utilized for cattle grazing and benefits from having multiple pastures which are both upland and bottomland areas that allows for cattle rotation. It is set-up for ease of managing cattle with alleyways and a set of pipe working pens that are improved with a covered working chute. An older pole barn offers some dry storage but there is also a large, all-steel hay barn that was constructed in 2018-2019. The hay barn is estimated to be approximately 50’ x 100’ with side walls on the two long sides and open on the ends. There is a water well located at the working pens that existed before the current owner’s tenure. No specific details were available about the water well depth or capacity.
Just north of the improved pasture are three smaller, native pasture areas. These pastures are located in the bottomland area and offer extended grazing possibilities in the heat of the summer. There are six stock ponds which are scattered throughout the property that appear to offer adequate water sources for livestock and wildlife. The tract has approximately 1,035 feet of frontage along Hwy 79 according to a new survey that was completed in May 2023.
The property is conveniently located on the north side of Hwy 79 approximately 13 miles west of Henderson and 23 miles east of Jacksonville. Call today for additional information or to set up your private tour of this property.
