Description
Location: The ranch is located in the red bluff canyon are of Stonewall County, 9.5 miles north of Old Glory. There is access off of CR 231. The ranch is approximately 1.5 hours north of Abilene, 2.5 hours from Lubbock, 3 hours from Ft Worth, 3.5 hours from Dallas and 3 hours from Midland. Stonewall County airport (T60) has a 4,000 ft paved runway located just outside of Aspermont, approximately 25 minutes from the ranch.
Land: A deep draw gives way to the large lake which is the focal point of the property. There are also numerous other tanks that fill in other draws to make this ranch very well-watered. The numerous canyons and draws make for excellent game highways and numerous stand/feeder sites. The overall rugged beauty of this part of Texas is something to behold.
Wildlife: The ranch perimeter is entirely high-fenced to allow for an extensive game management plan as desired. Currently, there are whitetail, turkey, pigs, dove, quail and excellent duck hunting on the lakes and stock tanks.
Water: The water on this ranch sets it apart. The picturesque lake winds through a canyon with steep banks and is heavily wooded up the creek for ample structure for the fish and also makes the ducks comfortable, providing cover. Several other stocks tanks have been created to provide water all over the ranch.
