Directly South of the property is the Colburn Wildlife Area, a 5000-acre nature preserve inhabited by many deer and other wildlife. The road acts as a division between the property and the public land with no worry about crossing borders accidentally.
Toward the property's southeast corner, the current owner explained they have a perfect deer bedding area. There is a deep ditch along the road until you reach his property line. The deer often funnel West along the road until they come to the corner of the property where the ditch ends. At that point, the deer cross over and bed down or begin to wander through the property. This makes for substantial deer traffic through this property, giving you a greater opportunity to shoot that big buck! There is a very slight knoll in the middle of the property, but for the most part, this is flat ground. Anyone and everyone can enjoy time on this property. The trails make for ease of ingress and egress, and the flat surface provides sure-footedness for anyone in the family wishing to hunt. There are very few wet areas on the property to top it all off. There is a small marsh in one location, but the rest of the property is quite dry. Walking the property could easily be done in tennis shoes; no need for hip waders here!
Along with the awesome deer hunting, there were also great signs of turkeys throughout the property. The small knoll mentioned before has a good brush cover and gives the perfect raised area for a ground blind. Around the knoll, several different clearings would provide shooting lanes for your turkey harvest.
