Internal Road System
An internal 11-acre aerated lake is found in the middle of this fabulous property. As you open the gate you will be shocked by the beautifully carved out of the big forest many years ago. 73 +/- acres of the old fields were planted in Red Pine and yet nearly 30 acres remain ready to be transformed into food plots with little effort. Approximately 2 3/4 miles of this property shares its border with US Government land. The Popple River, fabulous trout water, is found close to the southwest corner of the property, a favorite for many to fish, canoe, and kayak.
Because the National Forest is so large and covers so much of the region, there are few competing planted fields in the area. Plant your food plots and watch what happens as the deer are drawn to your steady supply of food. Your new property will act like a giant magnet pulling deer from miles away.
The internal roads twist and turn throughout the entire property and provide great access to all of it. This is a very diverse property with maple-covered ridges giving way to spruce thickets, grassy basins, aspen groves, intermittent pines, and fields.
An old farmhouse, a small garage, and 2 storage buildings make the package complete, all of which are found on the south side of the lake. You cannot help but stop to check to see what might be visiting the lake, whether it might be ducks or geese, maybe a deer coming for water. Sit at the edge of the lake and look north after sunset to really see what the stars look like without the haze created by city lights and then listen to distant coyotes or the native frogs at the water’s edge.
If you want peace and absolute quiet this is the property for you. If you are looking for land that will provide great deer, bear, rabbit, grouse, turkey, and woodcock hunting this is for you. The forest is in wonderful shape, the roads getting to the property are always well maintained and the price of this huge creation is at the right level. And, you get to use the National Forest lands for free and access to the river is provided just off the forestry road at the edge of your land.
