Cody Crum

Cody Crum is your Whitetail Properties Land Specialist in Southwest Illinois. Cody, his wife, Tamar, and their two boys, Cort and Clete, live the outdoor life on their farm every day. The Crum family wholeheartedly believes in the foundational values that come from an unwavering faith in God and growing up on a farm, caring for land and animals. Cody and Tamar have a firm resolve to raise their family by instilling these values - hard work, dedication, compassion, and honesty - while fostering life lessons and, ultimately, a foundation of faith in their children – just as their parents and grandparents did for them. They enjoy raising, marketing, and showing their Hereford cattle and operating their farm-to-table beef business as a family.

Cody grew up on his family’s Illinois farm, where his passion for agriculture and the outdoors began. Throughout his youth, he was often found hunting, fishing, farming or showing Hereford cattle. This led him to pursue a degree in ag-business at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul, MN. There, he discovered his desire to learn about auctions and land business.

After college, Cody started his career in the auction business. He has worked in nearly every role in an auction from auctioneer, ringman, organizer, facilitator, and seller. The ability to serve in each of those capacities allowed Cody to grow in his knowledge of conducting sales transactions. He has worked many farm and land sales throughout the country. Cody’s work in the auction industry as a Ranch & Farm Auction team member is where his relationship with Whitetail Properties began. Getting the unique opportunity to observe the workings and values of Whitetail Properties prior to joining the Whitetail Properties team only deepened the gratitude Cody feels at the opportunity to work with a team where faith, family, hard work, and honesty are foundational.
