Description
As you roll down the gently winding road, tucked back in a beautiful valley with mature hardwood ridges rising up from Jeffries Cove, you will be rewarded with the many features of this picturesque tract! On the final approach, you will rattle across the stout wooden bridge that crosses a flowing stream and find an open meadow. This is the centerpiece of the property, with a cool old smokehouse, a spring house with flowing water and plenty of space for a cabin, camper, or just to camp out with the family. The stream wraps around this meadow and a path leads back to a greenfield, perfectly set up to catch deer and turkeys coming off the ridge to the west. Across the driveway there are open fields, approximately 20 +/-AC is currently in hay production, but would also make excellent pasture or areas for food plots. There are 2 small ponds, adjacent to the fields, that would make an excellent water source. The hardwood timber is good, with a lot of white oaks, red oaks and hickories the lower portions of the ridges have some stands of cedars and limestone rock outcroppings, but up above the band of cedars, you’ll find some very good hardwoods, There are numerous flat benches and funnels that help direct deer movement. There is one location back on the north end of the tract where there is a rock wall that reminded me of an amphitheater how it curled around the ridge. There is tremendous natural beauty all across the property. The timbered ridges are Montague Mountain and Cumberland Mountain, these areas are known for excellent deer and turkey populations. A hunters dream tract, with the combination of some tillable, flat ground, rugged mountain, in Alabama’s historically #1 big buck producing county, I’m excited about its potential. There are not many UTV trails gaining access to the northern portion of the tract, but with some dozer work, and some planning, there could be trails put in throughout and let your imagination run wide. Several old logging roads do exist, that could be cleared for better access, in the ridges, but getting onto the property is very simple, it is flat and a two-wheel drive could drive to the old home place meadow with no problem. It's so peaceful and truly a gem of a place and one you would be proud to own. Showings are by appointment only, so please give me a call.
