Description
Nestled beautifully into the eastern slopes of Big Sheep Mountain, this off-grid getaway is set up and ready for immediate comfortable use and enjoyment! The 16' x 36' Pro-Shed Durango Log Cabin(with 12 ' x 16' loft) is tucked neatly into the varying landscape, towering over the valley below. Watch incredible sunrises from the covered porch over the eastern plains while enjoying a nice hot cup of coffee!
The cozy rustic cabin is mostly furnished, including a propane refrigerator and range, dining table/chairs, table, cook, and drinkware, queen size log bed, 2 single log beds in loft, linens, log swing, Adirondack chairs, and tons more!! Completely set up for an off-grid living, the cabin also includes a 1,000-gallon water storage system, as well as a 200-gallon transport tank and a new transfer pump. An on-demand hot water heater provides soothing hot water for the indoor sunken tub/shower, kitchen sink, and outdoor shower. An included generator supplies power to the cabin, as well as an industrial outhouse with a manual drain system (water chemicals will be included a well). A New 20’ metal storage container, shelves, storage systems, and many other items will be included! Too many to list!
The surrounding landscape features higher-altitude rocky terrain with many overlooks, clearings, and flats. A running creek is located just off of the NW corner of the property on the BLM, as well as a larger holding pond less than ¼ mile below in a large meadow, providing water for local wildlife. The property was hit by the fire a few years ago, but amazingly no damage was done to the cabin or structures. The majority of the trees were burnt, but the owners have cleared the debris beautifully around and in front of the cabin, giving an incredible view to the east. New growth has already begun on parts of the property, especially throughout the oak brush. There are multiple pockets of trees, mainly ponderosa pines, that survived, including some right around the cabin. The BLM acres above have many live ponderosas, providing refuge for wildlife during much of the year. Trail cameras regularly catch multiple local species right around the cabin, including deer, elk, bear, and more. Even though the property was hit by the fire, the views are absolutely incredible in all directions, making this such an inviting retreat for some peace and quiet!
This property has had meticulous upkeep and has been cared for incredibly well. It really shines once you step foot on it, and the pictures definitely can’t do the views justice! Contact the land specialist for more info and to set up a showing!
