Description
"Wonderland" This property has been properly nicknamed for the unique appeal of its lakes and rolling terrain. It is not your typical Midwest farm. It has a beauty and majestic feel that is hard to describe. Lakes reach out and span in every direction across this property, creating over 9,700 feet of shoreline. These lakes lie between a rolling topography with miles of a well-kept interior road system that will take you to secluded food plots and tower blinds strategically placed throughout the timber. We arrived at the property early in the morning as the sun was just starting to peek over the horizon. The fog was gently lifting off the water when we witnessed a pair of geese landing on the lake. Hearing several gobblers sounding off in different directions, we decided to try and catch one of these toms in full strut. We were able to quietly maneuver our way along the ridgetops through the property undetected using the internal road system. The rolling terrain between the lakes is ideal for wildlife, creating a multitude of bedding areas and travel corridors. The deer sign is abundant, with heavy trails up and down these ridges in and out of food plots. This area is well known for its high deer density and the harvest of some very large trophy bucks. It is like no other property I have ever seen. We observed many deer just hanging out in the timber and feeding in the established clover food plots. This rolling terrain gives the wildlife a very high sense of security. They were very relaxed; I think that is part of what gives this property such a majestic feel. The property consists of multiple long lakes with deep blue crystal-clear water. The lakes appear to have an abundant supply of fish. We were able to catch a stringer full of fish in a short amount of time. Most of them were good-sized bass and plenty of panfish and crappie. I was told that two of these lakes are spring-fed and what really amazed me was the crystal-clear water. I could see fish swimming at least 6 to 10 feet below me. The lodge sits just a short distance inside the timber, with a spectacular view of the lakes and rolling timber hills in the distance. What a peaceful place to relax with your family and friends.
