Description

This South Canadian River ranch caters to both Hunters and Fishermen alike, offering everything that Northwest Oklahoma has to offer. Hunters will enjoy Trophy Whitetail, Mule Deer, Elk, Rio Grande Turkey, Wildboar, Quail, and Waterfowl. Only a short walk from the Lodge is an awesome 7-acre lake stocked with Largemouth, Crappie, and Bluegill. The Lake-build was started in 2014. It was a massive project which created an amazing addition to the ranch. No expenses were spared, and it’s absolutely beautiful! It has a peninsula equipped with dock and walkway, excellent fishing, and even a sandy beach for the kids. Overall it’s a wonderful area for the family to enjoy. Not to mention the great waterfowl hunting in the winter.

The ranch stretches down the South Canadian River for 2 miles, then elevates south onto crop fields in Red Cedar Canyons. It’s also home to a 2-mile stretch of PowWow Creek, which runs the entire length of the ranch. The river bottom is loaded with cover; brush, plum thickets, tamarack, and native grasses. Scattered hardwoods, such as Cottonwoods, Elms, Locusts, and CChina berries are spread throughout the bottom. The Canadian River bottom has a very unique saturated water table that lies 5’-6’ below the surface. There have been numerous wwater holes already dug-out specifically for wildlife. There are also some marshy areas with the potential to open up warm-water sloughs, creating some fantastic duck-hunting locations in the winter.

As the river bottom transitions onto the higher elevation, it creates a 20ft. bluff. There are numerous Ranch King shooting houses on this bluff, providing a Hawk-eyed view of the various food plots and feeders. These blinds are top quality, executive style, shooting houses.

The ranch is beautifully manicured, similar to a golf course. There are wide lanes meandering through the river bottom framed by 8ft. Pampas Grass. The scattered Cottonwoods provide numerous roost sites for flocks of Rio Grande Turkeys. Just imagine a large group of gobblers flying down on a river meadows and showing offon a spring morning.

The deer hunting is equally amazing. The ranch has been well-managed and has produced some great bucks over the years. It has hosted Wounded Warrior hunts and TV shows. The deer have been on a year-round protein supplement plan for many-many years. Combine this with the Canadian River’s genetics, you have the opportunity to hunt some of Oklahoma’s biggest deer.

An extremely unique aspect to the ranch is the potential to harvest Elk. And, Oklahoma does offer a limited Elk Season with over-the-counter tags. It’s common to see random Elk move up and down the river in this portion of Dewey and Roger Mills Counties. There are currently 3 bulls living on the ranch, hitting the protein feeders. Make sure to check out the Trail-cam link for additional deer, elk, turkey, and fish pictures.

The ranch and Lodge have good access and are extremely secluded. The Lodge is beautifully decorated with all the amenities of home. And is completely turn-key, including appliances, furniture, bedding, etc. It’s an amazing hunting camp, and only a short walk to the lake. The Lodge is 2,400 sq/ft, the shop is 30’x50’. It has electric, propane, and water well. The owners have also added an industrial sized generator for back-up power and incase of outages. It will power everything for several days if needed. The ranch is completely turn-key. Including UTV, Tractor, Implements, Dozer, Pickups, mower, tools, storage container, fuel tanks, stand, feeders, Walk-in Cooler, etc.. Please see below for more details of the inclusion list.

When you combine everything this ranch has to offer; the variety of Wildlife, the River, the Lake, the Lodge, the Crop-fields, the Live-Creek, the included machinery and equipment, this might be the perfect Recreational tract. And only 2hrs. from OKC.! It would be hard to find a more aesthetically pleasing Recreational property. As you can see from the various photos, this family has enjoyed a lot of memories here. Now it’s your turn. Don’t hesitate to contact Steve with any questions, or to view this beautiful place!
