High-country hiking & fishing: Harris Lake and nearby Buckles Lake make a scenic outing; the Buckles/Harris Lakes hike is roughly 3 miles round trip.

Camping & fishing: Blanco River Group Campground is south of Pagosa Springs and offers hiking, fishing, and camping along the San Juan National Forest.

Boating, fishing & hiking: Navajo State Park is about 35 miles southwest of Pagosa Springs and has a 15,000-acre reservoir, trails, camping, boating and fishing.
