Description
We drove into this well-planned lake community on Ponderosa Loop and listened to the unique sound of the wind through the needles. The trees provide seclusion and privacy, but they also consistently offer nesting habitat for Bald Eagles. We circled the off-lake area as we drove.
Several beautiful homes overlook the lake, and several platted lots remain available as building sites. Each lot has utilities to connect, including electric, rural water, and fiber optic internet. This lot has approximately 100 feet of lakeshore frontage and is approximately 400 feet deep from the road to the water. Three rows of Ponderosa Pine line the back of the lot near the road, providing a visual screen from the road, scenery, wind shelter, and the ambiance of a Northwoods lake paradise.
Campbell is connected to Enemy Swim Lake by a causeway under County Road T500. Both lakes are multispecies fisheries, and Campbell is best known for Smallmouth Bass, Bluegill, and Perch fishing. The maximum lake depth is approximately 13 feet, and the bottom substrates are pebble, gravel, and sand. Beneficial rooted aquatic plants such as Pencil Reeds, Pondweed, Coontail, and Cattails provide habitat for fish. Similar to Enemy Swim Lake, Campbell has several points, bars, and varied bottom topography enhancing structures in the lake. There are no public boat launches on Campbell, so traffic on the lake is minimal and mostly restricted to property owner use. Beaver adds structure by felling trees along the largely undeveloped lakeshore, which provides great territories for bass to hide out.
