This area offers hunters a fantastic Oasis of public hunting to enjoy. Within the Wildlife Management Area, there is a more regulated area called the McFarland Unit. The McFarland Unit consists of 10,154 Acres where controlled-only firearm hunts are offered. The previously controlled hunts have consisted of three weekends per year only. This is a huge bonus for the buyer because the McFarland Unit borders the property on 3 sides. This serves as a refuge for a large portion of deer season. The area, in general, is well known as a consistent producer of 170+ deer and it has great Quail habitat.
The property has a dry creek bed with a small pond. There is good grass and cover in the bottom, predominately tamarack, plum thickets, and heavy grass. The property has tons of potential if transitioned into farm ground and planting wheat. A green food source would pull a very large number of deer out of the WMA.
